A: Manipulating Image Properties

Editing the position, rotation, zoom, brightness and contrast of an image.

 

Select an image to modify from the Imaging tab.

  • 1. Click the Imaging icon  in the ICE dental menu bar.
  • 2. In the Imaging tab, click to choose a Template View.

  • 3. Click to choose a date from the Timepoints column on the left.

  • 4. Click to highlight the image you would like to modify. Alternatively, if you wish to modify the image from a full-size view, double-click the image.

 

Manipulate the image.

 

There are several ways to modify your image properties.

 

Under the Imaging tab on the right, drag the applicable slider to change any of the properties listed. Click the icons  to rotate or flip the image.

  • For future reference, a red border will appear around the flip icon to indicate that a selected image has been flipped.

 

Under the Imaging tab on the right, select the Manipulate checkbox. You may now use your mouse to drag the position of the image within the template box.

  • If the Brightness/Contrast mode checkbox is selected, dragging the mouse up-and-down will adjust the brightness and dragging the mouse from side-to-side will adjust the contrast.

 

Drag the Rotate icon at the top right corner of the image to rotate the image.

  • Drag the Zoom icon at the bottom right corner of the image to increase or decrease the size of the image within the template box.

 

Save modifications.

 

A red border indicates that an image has been modified, but that the changes have not been saved. You will also be prompted to save any image modifications when switching templates.

 

  • 1. If the image was adjusted from a full-size view, click Close at the bottom right to return to the template view. Otherwise, move on to Step 2.
  • 2. Either click Save MM/DD/YYYY (to save changes for that date) or click Save All Changes, located at the bottom of the Imaging tab window.

 



 

B: Rearranging Images within a Template

To move an image to another patient’s record, please see Moving and Deleting Images 7.3.

 

Select the template to rearrange.

 

  • 1. Click the Imaging icon  in the ICE dental menu bar.
  • 2. In the Imaging tab, click to choose a Template View.

  • 3. Click to choose a date from the Timepoints column on the left. (Images can only be rearranged from the timepoint date that they were originally uploaded. ie: the labels must be in yellow font. Please see Overview of Imaging 7.1 for details on image labels.)

 

Select the Rearrange checkbox and drag the image to a new template position.

 

  • 1. Select the Rearrange checkbox under the Imaging tab on the right.

  • 2. Drag the image you wish to move, to a new template position. Please note that the new position does not need to be empty. Dragging an image to an occupied position will result in the two images trading places.

 

Save changes.

 

A red border indicates that an image has been modified, but that the changes have not been saved. You will also be prompted to save any image modifications when switching templates.

 

  • Either click Save MM/DD/YYYY (to save changes for that date) or click Save All Changes, located at the bottom of the Imaging tab window.

 



 

C: Editing an Image Date

An image is assigned the date that it was uploaded to the ICE Dental System. If this is not the date that the image was taken, follow the instructions below to change the image date.

 

Locate the image in the Imaging tab.

 

  • 1. Click the Imaging icon  in the ICE dental menu bar.
  • 2. In the Imaging tab, click to choose a date under the Timepoints column on the left.

  • 3. Click to choose a Template View that includes the image to change.

  • 4. Images for that template will be displayed in the Imaging tab.

 

Right-click the image to change the image date.

 

  • 1. Right-click the image that you wish to change.
  • 2. Click Change Date Taken.

  • 3. Click to choose the correct date from the calendar and then click Change.

  • 4. The change in date will be recorded and available for future reference from the Patient History module , under the Details column.



 

D: Re-labelling an Image

 

Locate the image to re-label in the Labels View tab.

 

  • 1. Click the Imaging icon  in the ICE dental menu bar.
  • 2. Click to display the Labels View tab.
  • 3. Click to choose an image label from the Labels column on the left.

 

Drag the image to a new label under the Labels column.

 

  • 1. Drag the image that you wish to re-label to the Labels column. A list of all available labels will appear.

  • 2. Drop the image into the correct label.

 

Save changes in the Imaging tab.

 

  • 1. Click to display the Imaging tab.
  • 2. Either click Save MM/DD/YYYY (to save changes for that date) or click Save All Changes, located at the bottom of the Imaging tab window.

  • 3. The image can now be located by the new label. The label change will also be noted for future reference in the Patient History module under the Details column.
