A: Creating a Family
To set up Guarantors or to set up a Family Insurance Plan.

 

 Create and Name the Family

 

1) Click the Scheduling icon  in the ICE Dental menu bar.

2) From the Scheduling menu bar, click Patient and Family. Click Create New

 

3) In the Create Family dialog box, click to type a Family Name. (The Active checkbox will already be selected.)

 

 Add Family Members and Assign Roles

 

1) Click Add New Member.

2) A Patient Management dialog box will appear. To find patients that belong to the family, click to type a search term in any of the text boxes (Patient CodePatient Name…) and then click SearchAlternatively, click Show All and then filter through the patients by typing in any of the dialogue boxes. (There is also an option to create a New Patient with a click.)

3) Click to choose a patient from the list, and then click Select.

4) The new family member will now be listed in the Create Family dialog box. Click the Relationships column drop-down list and then click to choose the person’s role in the new family.

5) Click Save.
6) Repeat section  for each additional family member.

 




B: Adding a Patient to a Family

 

Edit Current Family Details

1) Click the Scheduling icon  in the ICE Dental menu bar.

2) From the Scheduling menu bar, click Patient and Family.

 

3) A list of families will appear in the Family Management dialog box. To filter through the list, click to type a search term in either the Family Name or Family Members text box.

Family management

4) Click the edit icon  under the Actions column for the family you wish to edit.

 

Add/ Remove Patients and Edit Roles

 

1) Click Add New Member in the Edit Family dialog box.

2) A  Patient Management dialog box will appear. To find patients that belong to the family, click to type a search term in any of the text boxes (Patient CodePatient Name…) and then click SearchAlternatively, click Show All and then  type to filter in the  Patient Name. (There is also an option to create a New Patient with a click.)

3) Click to choose a patient from the list, and then click Select.

4) In the Edit Family dialog box, the new family member will be listed. Click the Relationships column drop-down list and then click to choose the person’s role in the new family.

5) Click Save.

6) Repeat Section   for each additional family member.

 




C: Adding a Guarantor to a Patient
Create a Family (as outlined above in section A) before adding Guarantors.

 

Locate Patient

1) Click the Scheduling icon  in the ICE Dental menu bar.

2) Click to type a name in the Patient Search text box at the right of the Scheduling menu and then click to choose the patient. Move ahead to Section .  Also note that clicking the patient icon  at the right of the Patient Search text box will display a list of the 5 previous patients.  Again, click to choose a patient and move ahead to Section.   Alternatively, click the Search Patients tab in the Scheduling menu and move on to Step 3.

3)  A  Patient Management dialog box will appear. To find patients that belong to the family, click to type a search term in any of the text boxes (Patient Code, Patient Name…) and then click Search. Alternatively, click Show All and then  type to filter in the Patient Name. (There is also an option to create a New Patient with a click.)

4) Click to choose a patient from the list of patients and then click Select.

 

Select/Add a Guarantor

1) Click the Family tab in the Patient Registration dialog box to see the list of family members.

2) Select the Guarantor checkboxes for any family members that will act as guarantors for the patient and then click Save.

3) If the family member to be a guarantor is not listed, click the edit icon  under the Action column of the Families table (to the right). An Edit Family dialog box will appear. Please follow the instructions from section B (above) Adding a Patient to a Family.  If the family member to be a guarantor has not been registered, there is an option to Create a New Family Member (clicking this button will display a new Patient Registration dialog box).
